*OPENING FOR BOOKINGS WEEK COMMENCING 30th MARCH 2026*

Why 'the holt'? Well, we offer an exciting fusion menu showcasing both the best of local and traditional produce, alongside more modern pan-Asian dishes.

Yorkshire and the Far East both are home to otters, a lovely natural connection between to two sides of the world renowned for exceptional food!

For special occasions and larger groups, please send details to hungryotters@protonmail.com. Bookings will be taken from 30th of March 2026, with the Bistro opening April 8th. The Tennants Arms pub also takes bookings for their own Taphouse Menu and Sunday lunch - please email their reception direct for these.

 

For everyone else, please book through our our booking link.. For groups of more than one table (five guests or more) who are not residents at the hotel, we do ask for just a £20 per table deposit to secure your seat. For single table groups, you can book without a deposit - we will hold your table for up to 15 minutes after your sitting time.

Please note, without a deposit any booking is not guaranteed, although we will try to accommodate you if there is availability.

Hotel guests can book up to the day before.

 

We will endeavor to accommodate any special diets or requests if booked ahead of time -  please ask in advance for a quote.

We are happy to accept single-table walk-ins during opening hours but we advise booking so we can serve all our guests more efficiently. Last orders 30 minutes before the Bistro closes

To keep everything fresh home-made, we offer a menu that changes with the season. We’re a team of two & almost everything is made in-house; good food, not fast food!

 

For any special dietary requirements or allergies, please ask before ordering so we can help you make informed decisions and keep you safe & well.

 

We’re happy to remove any element of a dish, if at all possible, but for any special requests or customisations please book in advance and order in advance. Our Private Chef service starts from £20 per person.

 

For hygiene reasons we don’t allow pets in the bistro.

 

We’ll never automatically add a gratuity or service charge to your bill – this is Yorkshire hospitality, not America!
