ABOUT

ABOUT

A former coaching inn in the 17th century, The Tennants Arms Hotel is now a boutique hotel offering stunning views of rolling hills and local wildlife. We boast a full bar with cask ales, a games room, a darts room, and a snug with an open log fireplace.

Just a stone's throw away from Kilnsey Park and Kilnsey Crag, this is an ideal location for walkers, cyclists, and those just wanting to view beautiful rolling hills.

Refurbished and refreshed in 2026, the hotel is returning to its former glory and once again welcoming visitors from all over the UK and further afield!

Book direct using the link at top of the page, or send in your enquiry to our reception team using the form at the bottom of the page.

The area has a long-standing history with sheep farming, dating back centuries, which has shaped both the local economy and culture. The iconic Kilnsey Crag serves as a backdrop to this agricultural community, where traditional practices are still used today.

Mastiles Lane, where we are located, is a historic Roman road, originally built strategically to battle local tribes. On the site of Fountain Abbey, monks would take their flocks along this road as one of the main avenues of sheep driving in the country.

We honour the guardians of the countryside in our crest, and still today herds of sheep are all around our gardens!

Once a year in August, the historic Kilnsey Show still takes place on the field across from us as it has done since 1897, where the prestigious sheep contest still attracts over 10,000 visitors every year!
